Loki Takes Over Asgard in New 'Thor' Clip

Two new clips from "Thor" have been debuted at Kapow! ComicCon in London during the weekend. Coming Soon correspondent Ben Mortimer has recently shared what are seen from the snippets.

The first clip sees Loki taking over the throne of Asgard after Odin has fallen into a coma. Loki's sinister manner leads the Warriors Three and Sif plead for Thor's return from exile, to which Loki responds, "My first order can't be to undo my father's last." He later refuses to grant the wish.

The second video features Thor who is interrogated by agent Coulson after he was captured while trying to reclaim Mjollnir. After Coulson leaves the room, Loki comes up to Thor, saying that their father has passed away, and he has become the king of Asgard. When Thor asks whether he is permitted to go back to Asgard, Loki refuses by saying, "The truce with Jotunheimr is conditional upon your exile."

Loki disappears just in time before Coulson reenters the room to interrogate Thor. As the agent asks questions to Thor, Loki appears in the enclosure of the hammer. He is trying to lift Mjollnir, but he cannot remove it from the earth.

In the meantime, new featurette for the action film has gone online. The video, which is titled "Inside Look", follows the title character who is banished to Earth. It also features a sneak-peek of imaginative world of Asgard, which production designer Bo Welch says is located "up there".

Speaking about the shooting location, Natalie Portman admits she is happy to film the movie in a place with an open sky. Meanwhile, Chris Hemsworth says the Earth set in New Mexico is "huge contrast as big kingdoms and castles in Asgard".

Jamie Alexander also shares a positive feeling about the set, which took months to develop. However, when learning that the shooting involved explosions, she confesses, "A little tear just rolled down at the side of my face because I thought 'I cannot, I cannot see this destroyed.' "

"Thor" tells the tale of the title character, a powerful but arrogant warrior who is cast down to Earth due to his reckless actions. Once here, Thor learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends the darkest forces of Asgard to invade Earth.

In the Kenneth Branagh-helmed film, Hemsworth stars as Thor, Portman plays Jane Foster, and Alexander takes the role of Sif. Other stars joining the cast ensemble include Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, and Kat Dennings. The movie will arrive nationwide in theaters on May 6.
