"Battle: Los Angeles" has conquered North American Box Office in its opening week by debuting at the penthouse of the weekly rundown. The Aaron Eckhart-starring movie, costing $70 million in production, enters the chart with an estimated $36 million.
Giving up the first spot to "Battle: LosAngeles " is Johnny Depp-voiced animated movie "Rango". This Paramount Pictures flick slips from the No. 1 position to the runner-up place by dropping a modest 40% in ticket sales with an addition of $23.1 million.
Beside "Battle: Los Angeles", there are two more new entries at the top 5 of the U.S. movie chart this week. Amanda Seyfried's "Red Riding Hood" by "Twilight" director Catherine Hardwicke lands at No. 3 with $14.1 million, and Seth Green's "Mars Needs Moms!" fromDisney arrives at the fifth spot with $6.8 million.
